Dips' and Kat's notorious row was kicked-off by pin-up boy Ranbir Kapoor, who suddenly moved his love loyalties from Deepika to Katrina. Though Kat won round one of this love battle, she eventually lost out to other calendar models, who've kept the Kapoor lad entertained. But despite then being pitched on the same side as Dips, their bickering turned them into frenemies, rather than best pals.
Even though the pair patched things up at KJo's birthday bash last year - while Kat was still dating Ranbir - the ladies never really warmed to each other, with insiders claiming the make up was just a stunt to keep the gossips at bay.
While Kat's hasty moves cost her Sallu's affection (and influence), Dips was left with an ‘RK' tattoo on the nape of her neck, and it was on Koffee with Karan that Dips hit back at Kat, making snide remarks over her much-debated Indian nationality, requesting on the show that Kat make her passport public! Leaving Katrina to snipe back, "There's nothing in my passport, everybody can see it."
The row then heated up on the big screen with the ladies both becoming item girls - with Kat judged the winner. But Dips retaliated by stealing Kat's fave director, Prakash Jha, leaving Kat mentor-less.

Piggy Chops might've put up a show of camaraderie at Salman Khan's Being Human fashion show, walking hand in hand down the runway with Kat, but once the show was over, she went back to snubbing her rival at an awards party in Mumbai, where she cold-shouldered Kat, despite standing next to her.
"Even though they were backstage, they ignored each other," revealed an insider. And their ego-off was further fuelled after Kat replaced PC in Karan Johar's Dostana 2, then walked out of Anurag Basu's Barfee when she discovered that her part was secondary to PC's lead role.
"Kat was furious with the director for not casting a newcomer in the second lead and decided to quit the film," added our source.
Now, with most event organisers aware of the pair's bitter relationship, arrangements are often made behind the scenes to avoid a public showdown between the ladies if they're attending the same bash. And at a recent IPL do, the nervous party planners spaced out their shows so the girls didn't accidentally meet.

It's been the constant comparisons with ‘outsider' Kat that has irked B-wood royalty Bebo, say sources close to the star. And while the pair may play at being pals in public, behind closed doors (or rather at film award dos) they make their differences known!
Insiders have spilled that at the recent Star Awards, Bebo refused to present to Kat, insisting that she was paying Kaif back for having done the same thing to her in the past. And Bebo again made her dislike of Kat clear, when she refused to share publicists.
Another source spilled about how Bebo used her clout at a Bollywood show to ensure she was paid Dh400,000 to attend, while Kat was offered less cash. And with Kareena having accused Kat of copying her acting style and size-zero figure, Kat's been hitting Bebo where it hurts, winning at the box office last year, with Rajneeti and her sizzling, much talked about Sheila item number in Tees Maar Khan.

After her super-successful Bollywood start, star kid Sonakshi might have won herself plenty of fans - but she certainly can't count Kat among them. Having already fallen out with Katrina over her closeness to Kat's ex-boyfriend Salman Khan, Sonakshi's apparent strategy of replacing Kat as the face of some top brands left Kaif insisting they were contracts that had simply expired.
"Although Kat has expressed her unhappiness about Sonakshi to her close pals, she won't go public with it," spilled our source.
While some insiders feel it's the feisty fresher who's taking unnecessary potshots at Kaif, there are others who blame Kaif's insecurity over Salman's now divided affections - ever since Ranbir became a thing of the past - that has created more bad blood.
With Kat being the queen of diplomacy that she is, preferring to play down the bad vibes, in private she's said to have been fuming over how Sonakshi is being promoted to the top.
"Sonakshi understands that she has a long way to go before she reaches the top, but she's taking baby steps towards ensuring Kat's out of the race," confirms our source.
And we hear Sonakshi even texted Kat a ‘no bad feelings' message just to get in Sallu's good books, a sentiment Kat isn't ready to return just yet.
