Seneca, Canada and Frameboxx initiate Indo-Canada Student Innovation Award

Initiated with the objective of creating an awareness and synergies between Canadian and Indian education institutes in the field of animation and vfx, Canada and the Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology (Toronto, Canada) in association with the Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects (Mumbai, India) have announced the launch of "Indo-Canada Student Innovation Award" for best student animation film.

"We want to encourage and give an opportunity to students in India to present their artistic creativity and technical capabilities exploiting the medium of animation. The competition would also help Canadian educational institutions and production houses to get a first hand exposure to the animation industry of India," said Rajesh Turakhia, MD, Frameboxx.

The jury will consist of the Chair of the School of Animation at Seneca College (Toronto, Canada); a representative from the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai; and the Managing Director of a leading production house from Canada and online poll by the animation fraternity in India. The technical merit note will be balanced by an online poll drive by the animation fraternity in India.

The winning student (team leader) will receive one week training at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology (Toronto, Canada). The winner will be announced during the 'BAF Award Ceremony' at FICCI Frames conference 2011 at Mumbai on March 24. Deadline for submission is February 15, 2011.
