She's Justin Bieber's girlfriend, a Disney starlet, a singer — and now certified awards show host. Selena Gomez obviously impressed last month when she took on the job of red carpet reporter at the MTV Video Music Awards, because she's been signed up to host an entire show by herself.

The 19-year-old — who rose to fame with the show Wizards of Waverly Place — has been confirmed as the host of MTV's European Music Awards on November 6 in Belfast.

"I'm so excited to be the host of the 2011 MTV EMA — it's a dream come true!" said Gomez in a statement on Monday. "This is such a huge event that always recognises the biggest stars in music from across the globe, so it's a real honour to be MC at this year's show."

She'll have her work cut out for her — apart from compering the whole show and tweeting about it, she'll be hoping her boyfriend Bieber finds success: he's nominated for three awards. Also in the running are Lady Gaga with six nods, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars with four, and Adele and Thirty Seconds To Mars with three.
