Sanjay Dutt gets rough and rural!

By Hindustan Times

While he’s excited about producing and acting in the modern day version of Satte Pe Satta, Sanjay Dutt is equally thrilled about being a part of the remake of yet another Amitabh Bachchan movie, Agneepath. But, unlike his next production, he’s not re-playing Big B’s role, but instead, Danny Denzongpa’s sophisticated villain, Kancha Cheena, in newcomer Karan Malhotra’s version for Dharma Productions.

However, Dutt’s character is quite a contrast to Denzongpa’s: “My character is a lot more grounded and rural. At the same time he’s very rough and tough. It’s too early to reveal anything more, but Karan’s (director Karan Malhotra) characterisation is interesting,”

And contrary to reports, Dutt won’t be going bald for his portrayal of the nemesis of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, played by Hrithik Roshan, either. Dutt asserts, “We’ll be doing prosthetics for the look of my Kancha
Cheena. A team of specialists from Los Angeles will be coming to finalise how the looks of my character should evolve as the story progresses.”

The actor has no qualms about being the second choice after Rishi Kapoor opted out due to differences with producer, Karan Johar. Reportedly, the veteran actor alleged that Johar instigated Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor to make controversial comments on his son Ranbir Kapoor on the filmmaker’s television chat show.

Dutt is high on double happiness — having become a father of twins and shooting of his production Rascals being in progress. “Fatherhood can’t be expressed in mere words. I wish to continue working and make people happy with my entertaining movies. And I hope my case gets over now,” concludes the actor.
