Sanjay Dutt and wife Maanyata have chosen out-of-ordinary names for their newborn twins.

Since Maanyata is from Muslim background (her real name is Dilnawaz Sheikh) and Sanjay’s mother Nargis too was Muslim, the duo opted for Persian names for their kids.

The boy has been named Shahraan, which mean the ‘royal knight’. The girl has been named Iqra, which means ‘to read’ or ‘to learn’. The name Iqra has a particular Islamic significance as it is believed to be the first word of the Holy Quran that came upon Prophet Mohammad from angel Jibraeel (Gabriel).

Sanjay and Maanyata apparently came upon these names while travelling in Egypt a few months back.
