Now this piece of news is a tad amusing. In Imtiaz Ali’s film Rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor will be play the guitar, do head banging, but won’t dance. Why? Because the director feels that dance won’t suit Ranbir’s character of a rockstar, who is shown in the film as a die-hard fan of the famed rockstar Jim Morrison of ‘The Doors’.
Ironically, Jim Morrison was among the few singers of his time who revelled in dancing on stage. His dances, as his fans must know, were the Red Indian dances.
Moreover, the movie has a romantic song between Ranbir and newcomer Nargis Fakhri. We don’t know whether Ranbir will shake his leg in that number.
But as far as dancing on stage is concerned, we think Ranbir’s character, being a Morrison fan, must do the jig. But it shouldn’t be the typical Bollywood dance that often ends up embarrassing the audiences.
