His actress fiancee Genelia D'Souza, whom he is set to marry in February, sent out a mushy wish for him on Twitter.
"Happy birthday to the bestest, most adorable and the sweetest person I have ever known and will ever know, @Riteishd you make life special by just being in it," D'Souza posted.
According to reports, Deshmukh, who is also an architect, is planning a desi version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with star handprints embedded into the sidewalk — a project similar to that planned by entertainment channel UTV Stars.
"Congrats @Riteishd on the ‘Legends Walk', super sweet thought and because of you, how lucky we are to have all our superstars' handprints embedded into d sidewalk,' D'Souza wrote.
Among others who wished the actor a happy and successful life were Karan Johar, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Dia Mirza, Arjun Rampal, and Farhan Akhtar.
