Ranbir Kapoor takes his work seriously. For the role of a young boy from a Jat family in Rockstar, the actor actually went and stayed with one such family, ate at local dhabas and even milked cows.
In Rockstar, directed by Imtiaz Ali, Kapoor plays Janardan Jakhar, the youngest son of a traditional Jat family. So, it was important for him to pick up the mannerisms for a convincing act. Ali joined him too.
"Imtiaz and Ranbir spent an entire day with a Jat family based on the outskirts of Delhi. They would hang around with the young boys of the family, sleep on the cots, eat out at the local dhabas and enjoy hookah in the evening. Ranbir even assisted the men of the house in milking the cows," said a source. "Ranbir had the time of his life trying to milk the cows! It was such an amusing sight."
