Tamil movie superstar Rajinikanth, who has been hospitalised for recurrent respiratory infection and gastro-intestinal problems, is progressing well, according to hospital sources.
According to a hospital statement, the 60-year-old star was admitted on May 13.
A hospital official said that Rajinikanth is not in the intensive care unit (ICU), but in a private room and is progressing well.
"Initially it was thought Rajinikanth would leave for home after the necessary tests. But it was decided to admit him for his speedy recovery," T.G. Nallamuthu, the hospital's media consultant, said.
This is the third time in just over three weeks the matinee idol has been admitted to a hospital.
