Weeks before its scheduled release, Prakash Jha’s film Raajneeti has run into legal trouble over similarity between Katrina’s character and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.
Right from the onset when the images of a sari-clad Katrina playing a widow who enters politics reluctantly emerged on the net, comparisons are made between Katrina’s character and Mrs. Gandhi. The fact that Katrina speaks an accented Hindi makes the similarities all the more striking.
Raising an objection to this fact, Naseem Khan, a social worker in Mumbai has filed a lawsuit seeking a ban on the film. Khan claims that the film defames and maligns Mrs. Gandhi by showing intimate scenes between Katrina and her co-star Ranbir Kapoor .
However, director Prakash Jhahttp://www.apunkachoice.com/celebrities/prakash_jha/ claims that the allegations are baseless because Katrina’s character Indu is entirely fictional and is not based on any person living or dead.
