Prateik remembers mom on 25th death anniversary

Prateik will organise a special pooja today on the 25th death anniversary of his mother, Smita Patil. He has also turned 25 this year.
Every year, for last 24 years, Smita Patil’s family has a Puja on her death anniversary, 13th of December. It’s a small family affair where only parents, sisters, Prateik and his cousins attend. All gather at the Bandra home and remember Smita.
However, this year an elaborate Pooja at home has been planned, as this year marks the beginning of the 25th year of legendary actress Smita Patil’s death.
This is an extremely emotional time for the family. Prateik will be seen in DHOBI GHAT and Smita Patil would’ve loved to her son on the celluloid.
Prateik was only 15 days old, when his mother passed away. Prateik has been bought up by his grand parents, masis along with his cousins. He has always been surrounded and cushioned by lot of family.
Prateik confirms, “Yes my grand parents wanted to have a nice pooja at home. In fact, all family will be together today.”
This year seems to be a high emotional year with Prateik’s first film releasing and Smita completing 25 years. Recently at the Lincon Center in New York, the family was left teary eyed at the retrospective of Smita Patil.
