The casting coup is possible
making films like Cheeni Kum and Paa, director R Balki is all set to make another movie with Amitabh Bachchan. This time he’s is thinking of casting the versatile Hollywood actress Meryl Streep opposite Big B.
If reports are to be believed, Balki is giving shape to two scripts and one of them is about ‘cross-cultural’ love, while the other is a mature love story about two individuals who have crossed the age of romance.
Won’t getting someone like Meryl Streep, an Oscar winner, on board for an Indian film, be a tough job? Balki doesn’t think so and is quoted as saying, “Getting an international star is not half as difficult as it is made out to be. My concern is to make sure that the script justifies the casting.”
If things don’t work out with Meryl, actress Sridevi will be approached.
From Streep to Sri, that would be quite a leap.
