The Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone love story Lafangey Parindey has failed to make it's presence felt at the box office.

According to estimates, Lafangey Parindey's opening day collection was approximately Rs35 million (Rs3.5 crore) across India and the opening weekend net collections are expected to be around Rs.100 million.

The movie ran to an average 30-35% occupancy across theaters during the opening weekend. Both Deepika and Neil have won appreciation for their performances in the movie, and there is some hope among theater operators that the Raksha Bandhan holiday will see a rise in occupancy.

Shahrukh Khan was generous in his complements on twitter, saying "saw lafangey parindey last nite...deepika has acted really well & so has neil nitin...best of luck to pradeepda for his film."

Aamir Khan Productions' Peepli Live continues it's dream run. The movie made at a budget of around Rs100 million, has earned Rs210 million during its first week at the Indian box office.
