Kiran: No one knew Aamir was shooting in the middle of the n

When Kiran Rao had announced her debut directorial venture, DHOBI GHAT, she had really good reasons to let the world believe that it was a just a small, low budget film with just a few newcomers. And when she divulged her reasons and logic behind keeping her husband and ace star Aamir Khan in hiding right through the shooting of the entire film, we couldn’t agree more.
Kiran explained her stance saying that she did not want Aamir Khan’s name to come up earlier because when a super star of the stature of Aamir gets involved in any project then the focus shifts from the project to the star and things instead of being dealt with on a small scale become larger than life, which she did not want.
As per Kiran, they shot the whole film in Mumbai without letting the media or anyone else (apart from the very small crew) get a hang that Aamir was in anyway involved with the film which she said was quite a challenge as well as thrilling. She added that they shot in the busiest of streets of Mumbai (like Mohammed Ali Road) but only late at night, and also disclosed that she took Aamir to the real location right in the middle of the night and he stayed there in hiding for about three weeks till the entire shooting was complete.
Well, in this age of media frenzy it is really creditable that Kiran and Aamir managed to do their work secretly and showed that when it comes to dedication and hard work Aamir Khan shows the way and his wife too cannot be left behind!
