Make it real, no matter how hard it feels on the face! Imran Khan was quite gung-ho about getting slapped for real by Katrina Kaif while shooting for a part of the Yashraj film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Though the actress smacked him a fake one, he insisted on a real, cheek-flushing slap.
In an emotional scene in the film, Katrina’s character is supposed to slap Imran’s and it was an easy shot which would have taken no time to be canned. But Imran insisted that instead of faking it Kat should give him real jhapad - and not one but sixteen. He even called a boy and asked him to count the number of slaps. According to him the ‘logic’ behind it was that on the editing table the director can choose the best among the various slaps.
Confirming this to a tabloid, Kat is quoted as saying, “Left to me, I’d have done just one fake slap and moved on. But Imran insisted that I do it realistically,” and claims that this is one of the most authentic screen slap audience would see.
After 16 tight slaps, it has to be.
