It’s time for the reality show weddings: Strictly Come Dancing star Holly Valance married billionaire property tycoon Nick Candy in a lavish four-day affair this weekend, while So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley wed Irish TV host Patrick Kielty in Rome after a hush-hush romance.
The Duchess of York, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and Strictly stars Nancy Dell’Olio and judge Bruno Tonioli were among the guests at Valance’s multi-million pound events. Festivities began with Mr Candy’s stag do at a private members’ club in Hollywood on Thursday night.
Guests then enjoyed a £2 million (Dh11.8 million) party at a Malibu mansion on Friday, where Valance was heard saying she was worried Mr Tonioli would mark her first dance out of ten. At the ceremony on Saturday Valance wore a dramatic dress with a corset bodice and a flowing skirt, which was designed to look like feathers. She carried a dark red bouquet and had a vintage-style lace veil which doubled as a train, while Candy wore a tuxedo.
Yesterday, the newlyweds held an informal barbecue for family and friends.
Deeley and Kielty had a low-key affair, secretly marrying in Italy this weekend with their close family and friends present. It was only one month ago that 41-year-old Kielty denied rumours that they had gotten engaged. The pair first went public with their relationship in May, and although they had been friends for years, their romance still came as a bit of a shock.
