Discover an animation with a message in Animals United, which uses so many recognisable voices, that adults will have as much fun watching it as they will racking their brains and saying, ‘I know that voice! Who is that?’

The story focuses on a group of animals who might otherwise be eyeing one another up as a tasty snack, banding together after the delta they rely on for their water and survival fails to benefit from the yearly floodwater due to a dam some pesky humans have built for a nearby leisure resort.

With vultures, chimpanzees, rhinos, koala bears and elephants, to name but a few, soon all working together to rescue their habitat – and you have to suspend your disbelief that so many creatures from different continents all happen to live in Africa – what you get is a nice theme regarding climate change and working with (not against) nature, which will resonate with kids.

Stephen Fry is suitably languid as the lion, Socrates, and fans of Gavin & Stacey’s James Corden will love his poo-obsessed meerkat, Billy, with Joanna Lumley, Vanessa Redgrave (as a Galapagos turtle – see, we warned you!) and Billie Piper all popping up too.

The 3D visuals are the standout star here, but it’s been pretty much agreed this is one for the much younger kiddies.
