Composer John Barry, who won five Oscars for his film work, has died. He was 77.
Barry's family said yesterday that he had died in New York on Sunday.
The English-born composer was well known for his music for a string of James Bond films but his Oscars were from other films: Born Free, for which he won two statuettes, and The Lion Winter, Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves.
He was also nominated for work on two other films.
