The first weekend of Anjaana Anjaani and Endhiran (Tamil) saw a good response from the audience, resulting in excellent collections at box office. However, Robot (Hindi) could not make much impact at the box office as it did a business of around Rs 7 crore approx in its opening weekend.
It’s Rajinikanth fever at the box office down south. Talking about Endhiran (Tamil), the movie had a mammoth opening and did staggering business which is reported to top Rs 100 crore in its first weekend.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor- Priyanka Chopra starrer Anjaana Anjaani had a weekend collection of Rs 24 crore approx which is not bad as the movie’s budget is not that high, and as per reports it has already earned well from the satellite rights. It collected Rs 7.25 crore on Friday, Rs 8.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 8 crore approx on Sunday. The film even suffered a loss of Rs 1.50 crore approx due to release delay and Commonwealth Games.
Coming to the other releases - as expected, Khichdi - The Movie had a poor opening and will struggle to continue at the box office. Benny Aur Babloo will go unnoticed.
Dabangg has added another Rs 16 crore approx in third week which takes its three-week total to Rs 133 crore approx.
