Bipasha gets the boot from new film
Not so long ago, when Bipasha Basu was a newcomer in Bollywood, it was filmmaker brothers Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt who gave her her first Bollywood hit with the horror thriller Raaz.
Later, the Bhatts’ sequel to Raaz , with Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut in the lead, also struck the right notes at the box-office, motivating the duo to make a third film and cash in on its success. While Bips wasn’t offered a part in the second film, she was hoping to get her hands on the third one, especially since her career is stuck in a limbo with her personal affairs gaining her more gossip column inches than her movie work.
So, she struck a deal, whereby she was offered the lead in Raaz3 and an item number for Bhatts’ other project: Murder 2. So far, so ‘hello, comeback!’
But, Basu didn’t play her cards quite right. The dusky actress went awol during the filming of the item song, forcing the Bhatts to replace her at the last minute with dancer Yana Gupta.
The Bhatt brothers weren’t going to take this sitting down, they decided it was payback time and threw Basu off Raaz3.
With Mahesh sniping, “Bipasha tried to impose her starry airs on my company which has been a springboard to her stardom, starting with Raaz and then Jism. Mukesh and I took a decision not to succumb to her tantrums.”
Basu, we hope, has figured out that she needs to play her diva powers with caution, or else her B-town status would become non-existent!
