A letter from the Colors management to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray ‘apologising to Indians if their sentiments were hurt because of the show’, prompted the Sena to relax its stand towards the presence of Pakistani participants in the Bigg Boss reality show.

Although the Cable operators affiliated with the Shiv Sena are no longer blacking out Colors channel, the Sena continues to protest against having the two Pakistani artistes on the show.

The Sena is protesting against the inclusion of Begum Nawazish Ali and Veena Malik " both Pakistani artists -- in the show, on the grounds that if Indian channels are banned in Pakistan and Indian artists are not given any importance in Pakistan then why should Pakistani artists be allowed to star in Indian shows?

Stating that the protest was not over, Anil Parab, the Sena leader said, “We will pursue the issue until they are removed,” adding “Following the apology to Balasaheb, the party has allowed the show to air on cable networks from Thursday midnight. However, talks are still on with the channel on sending the Pakistani artistes back.”

Colors has not released the statement to the public, but spokesperson for Colors, Soniya Huriya said that “We clarified our stance to them (Shiv Sena) last night and said we had no intention of hurting anyone.”

Sources reveal that Colors has only offered a clarification and not an apology and the Pakistani contestants will continue to be part of the show.
