Dilip Kumar is no longer active in films, but ready to lend support for the welfare of the film industry.

The 88-year-old veteran has decided to donate Rs1.5 million (Dh1,237,925) for the construction of a 16-storey building of Cine & Television Artistes' Association (CINTAA) in Mumbai.

"There is a trust called the Cine Artiste's Welfare Trust that was set up by senior artists like Amjad Khan, Dilip Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Dara Singh, among others, in 1992.

Dilip Kumar has given a donation of Rs1.5 million under the building fund of that trust, which will be used for the construction of the building," Gajendra Chauhan, Vice President of CINTAA, said.
