After plenty of speculation over whether they would marry or not, Anurag Kashyap and his long-time lover Kalki Koelchin tied the knot at a private ceremony in the small town of Kalhatty on the outskirts of Ooty on Saturday. “It was a traditional South Indian wedding that lasted for two hours,” revealed a guest. “It was held under a century-old mango tree, which is considered significant according to customs.”

This was the second marriage for Kashyap, after the filmmaker fell head over heels in love with his Dev D actress Kalki during the filming of the movie three years ago.

Kalki wore a white sari with a red zari border, while the groom wore a traditional white dhoti (sarong) for the wedding which was a private affair, with only 40 close pals and family attending. Kashyap’s 10-year-old daughter Aaliya, from his first marriage to Aarti Bajaj, was present along with Anurag’s filmmaker bro Abhinav Kashyap.

Later on, the guests tucked into a sumptuous typical South Indian vegetarian spread, with a guest spilling that it was “prepared by Kalki’s mom”. Awwwww.
