You cant blame the culture surrounding us, after all it is others culture as pakistani/indian culture is ours.. our culture is being forgotten by those who are allowing it to be forgotten. There are also people living in the western world who are very much in touch with their culture.. the only difference is that they are making an effort to make sure their culture and roots are still a part of them. If we lose what it means to be punjabi, what hope is there for the generations to come?? As long as we are proud of our heritage and adopt our culture in the western world, our identity will live on in the generations after us. Of course we have to adapt slightly to the western ways so we are not entirely expressing our culture, but that is something we just have to accept. To be honest i think asians are very proud of their culture and express it more than others do, whether its the music, food, clothes, language..in fact we influence others to accept and take on some of our culture..we're well known for it so i guess thats something to be proud of!
