more revenue from it to govt...as as they say..its the 6th river of punjab
so why govt will stop it?
it is true that govt earns a lot from it, but govt. can come up with some other source of income may be industrialization (punjab is not ruled by commie gvt).
Money matter is not the only responsibility of govt., but health, and regulation of food and drug is also their responsibility.
The problem is vast and has taken a gigantic shape, gvt is the only powerful body with enough resources to take care of this. Small scale societies or individuals can't change much.

only hope is manpreet..but he wont be able to form a govt on his own and most probably will come in coalition and this will limit his options just like congress was limited in its first term..

Par ohde kalle de change hon naal v nizam badalan ni laga but i pray he should be strong-willed than mann mohan.

Govt cannot totally ban it...that is why its taxed heavily. Government can only jack the price up and hope it acts as a detterant. The thing that is wrong is how alcohol is used to gain votes though.

surprisingly, sarra punjab enna di kartuta jaanda fer v ehna nu vote pai jaande, i guess its due to lack of credible opposition.

jis din eh baabe chale gaye, vote paun kise ne ni jana...navi paneeri nu ki fark painda bhave badal chare bhaven captan...and ehi gurhti agge aa generation ne jawakan nu deni...so kuch te fark pauga hi...

dekho, manpreet is one hope these days........if he gets some momentum MLAs will attach with him. With success comes many frnd.

jerda sangharsh pella challeya si te sikh insurgency te aake khatam hoya, je oss de itihas te ek nazar feriye ta oh pella dharmik nahi c, oh punjabiyat based c. Either it was punjabi suba agitation or 1973 ASR, they were for more rights and betterment of punjab.
Due to punjab being sikh majority state, it was easier for central and state govt to dye it in color of religion, and they were successful and it eventually became the same.
There is little or no doubt it is easier to instigate and drag sikhs into fight.
