The long old fact of Tiyaan (also called Tiyan), the festival of Punjabi girls was well known to everyone. Does this still stand true? Ask your child what is Tiyan and probably he will start blinking his eyes to hear this new word.
The young and energetic Punjabi girls celebrated the fair and festival in old times which is slowly becoming part of Punjab history. It may not be wrong to say that after a century people will only read about these festivals in books and have to scratch their heads over heels to just find out what it was and why it was celebrated.
This brief article here is just meant to bring into attention the fact of gradually disappearing of Tiyaan festival, though one of my friends sent me a good humm which is popular during the fair.
