Weathering The Day

How was your day?
I never quite know how to answer that question.

Some days it storms,
Angry, charged, frightening.
Thunder and lightning combine in a display of power.

Some days the sun shines
Warmly in a clear blue sky
Everything seems bright and carefree.

But it can be deceptively so.
A wintry day, the sun blasts through the window
Leading me to venture out without a jacket,
Expecting warmth.
Then reality thuds into my chest.
It's cold. Freezing.

Some days fill with clouds,
Nothing special, another dreary day
But full of promise.

Some days drizzle lightly
Fog rolls in, shrouding the world
In a blanket of uncertainty.

Some days are carried on the wind
Temperamental, rushed,
Clouds tumble in their race across the changing sky.

How's the weather today?
