The Vent Went Beyond

In the woods she’d smile,
On to go many a mile.
Enthralled with her only two jugs,
Stupendous air would pump her lungs.
Off she sprang to the river three humongous miles away,
Leaving all her uncertainties at bay.
And as she sang her way towards the distant water,
The day was grueling, the sun was hotter.
As her journey came to a stop,
The first half had ended of her job.

Started then the story of the talking magical impious jug,
In real sense one true thug.
He’d made a vent at his bottom, an invisible door,
To facilitate leakages galore.
And when the foolish girl filled water in him,
The devil would then start his sin.
Cause as the girl hopped back into her village,
Drained all the water the jug, the diabolical sage.
The story continued for years to come,
But patiently the dumb girl to the jug’s delight would just hum.

The other jug now fell in love with the girl,
Abuses and curses at the devil he would hurl.
What a pity he thought, “His evil intentions she doesn’t know”,
And not one sign of anger or rage she would show.
“If and only if like him I could talk,
It would prevent her only half efficient walk.
Oh my dear girl why can’t you see?
He’s stinging your innocence like a bee.
Please don’t waste your energy, he means only harm,
He’s targeting your goodness; he’s murdering your charm”.

Years went on prevailed insanity,
Cause the sinister jug lacked all humanity.
But one fine day yielded his patience,
As he gathered just one ounce of sense.
Sickened and defeated by her forbearance,
He said, “Why the hell isn’t she affected by my menace?
You blind girl haven’t you seen it year after year?
Only one jug of water reaches your home, isn’t that clear?
Why aren’t you shouting, why don’t anything you say?
You goon, only loss has been yours everyday”.

Smile was the only thing she gave,
“Oh my dear lovely jug, you’re so so naïve.
Maybe you never saw but it was your loss,
Misunderstanding purely my dear was all yours.
Cause sweetheart, your vision was constrained,
And my purpose I’ve surely attained.
Try to look out sweetheart, try to look beyond,
You’ve so sincerely helped me out all along.
The help you’ve given me darling, I can never pay it back”,
And shocked was the jug immensely taken aback.

“One jug was enough for me when to the river I came,
But I decided to do some deeds in nature’s name.
Across the three miles from the river to my place,
I’d planted some seeds to titivate earth’s face.
And you opened your vent always to give the babies their water,
You were their bliss when the day was grueling, the sun hotter.
Oh divine jug, look at the flower bed now!
It’s an angelic treat to which people bow.
Oh oblivious jug try to look past!
Courtesy you, these flowers have had a blast.

The jug’s concealed foolishness surfaced,
His mind could not discern the facts such fast paced.
And he succumbed under his own pressure,
Which brought an end to his malevolent leisure.
But the girl just smiled and caressed the jug,
And gave him one warm hug.
And the deal was now on for entire lifetimes,
The environment was rendered as melodious as chimes,
The jug would now be the harvester for more flowers,
Opening his vent now to facilitate for them magical showers.
