The Rapist

Darkness of the night and the daylight
cry and shriek
we (the humans) are the rapists in this era
raping the truth and honesty
religious propriety
our cultural dignity
and family values.
We
the Khumbhakarnas*
sleep over it with
‘do not disturb board’
Or
watch and see helplessly
what is happening
and let it happen, shamelessly.
“ Nay”
Can’t afford to say
“ It is ok, it is ok”
shutting our eyes and becoming impotents
and play in the hands of scrupulous elements.
Rise
why not rise in crores**
giving a war cry, blowing the conch
creating new consciousness and awareness
reviving our forgotten and cultural values
universal brotherhood and tolerance
bring peace and virtuous dispositions.

Let us
enter the new era with novel aims
building a new society
let us celebrate
birth of a new era
by lighting candles…..by lighting candles
