By Joshua Rodriguez

Everyday I see myself
Light fading from my eyes
What have I done with my life?

I drown in pools of misery
And there’s never anyone to pull me out
Can’t get this water out my mouth

How can I survive this mess?
There’s no bottom to this sea
Blocks of cement weighing me

No sign of me on the surface
There’s no one left who cares
Enough to give me air

Stop feeling sorry for yourself
Stop acting weak
Only you can help yourself be free

There’s no one there to cry for you
Nobody wants to
Teach yourself not to depend on others

When your whole world goes sour
Turn your tragedies into your power

Your strength isn’t in me
It’s not in your gods
It’s deep down inside your own soul

If we would all look a little harder
At who we are
We’d see just how strong we are

Yes, my friend, the world’s gone sour
Now turn your tragedies into your power
