My Lighthouse

I was a ship at sea
Choosing my own way
Drifting ever aimlessly
Both night and day

My course was uncertain
I faced the storms alone
Fought the wind, waves and rain
Wishing, wanting a place to call home

As the storms raged on
The clouds thick and dark
I had drifted so far gone
No hope for a new start

As I began to sink
My strength had been expelled
Can't go on I think
Too long on my own I have dwelled

When at the end I was sure
I saw a brilliant light
It was majestic and pure
The most beautiful sight

With what strength remained
To the light I did turn
Lost, broken and ashamed
Knowing it would always burn

Many years have past
Since that fateful time
The light will outlast
No others so fine

The light I speak of
Not a bulb or flame
But my wife's Love
No other is the same

Her light has been steadfast
Unwavering and true
Just as in the past
No matter what I do

She continues to guide me
Through time of stray
Always for me to see
And help me find my way

It is your Love that continues to saves me,
It is your devotion that guides me,
It is your existence that gives me reason,
There is no way for me to show the full extent of my Love for you.
