Cardboard boxes, plastic bags,
Window cleaner and old rags,
Empty rooms, huge moving trucks,
Our belongings lined up like a family of ducks.
Old pictures, new walls,
Packing trophies and basketballs,
Many trips to and from,
Drinking my water and chewing my gum.
Fourteen years there and starting out new,
More memories in the old place is of more value,
But now a bigger house, more space to roam,
Feels like we're visiting, not yet a home.
