Home Is Where The Heart Is

At first when I had met you
I thought you were insane
At first when I had met you
You were to me a shame

Then I got to know you
And how I was in bliss
Then I got to know you
And then I knew what I had missed

You were with another guy
Who eventfully broke your heart
You were with another guy
Who at once tore you apart

I was there with you
To pull you thick and thin
I was there with you
When you needed “him”

I was the one who talked
To you when you were down
I was the one who talked
To you when you had frowned

I knew you needed an ear
I did the best that I could
I knew you needed extra care
So I did all that I should

Then one day when we had talked
I let a secret slip
I told you of my life
Outside of all my “bliss”

All of my happy haze
Was at once quickly lifted
All of my drugs and vice
Had all but nearly drifted

After that we flirted
We told each other what we meant
After that we talked
And all I was, was bent

For months you were my life
For weeks you were my breath
For days I quite my vice
I thought we’d love till death

We were of different class
Backgrounds and the sort
You were smart and quite well liked
I was treated like a dork

You say your friends disliked me
I guess that would be true
I never quite believed it
But I still had trust in you

We could never have hung out
We would never be alone
Facebook doesn’t count
We’d just stay at home

All the while we drifted
We started to see less
Never with each other
Never would we kiss

But I knew it would never be
And It came to be so
I knew it would never be
Now you don’t love me so

You had read my message wrong
It said that I still loved you
You had read my message wrong
You’d think I was over you

Even though I’m dating
I still miss our life
Even though I’m still dating
I want me in your eyes

Now we go our separate ways
Being friends is such a curse
Now we’re on our separate paths
Its just that I still hurt

But hey you’ll never know
That I still love you so
Hey you’ll never know
How you hurt me so

I will never tell you
You will never know
But if it were up to me
I would always be your home
