Earning A Place In Time

The ships in the harbor were preparing for the day.
The sleeping giant was in no hurry, so there it did lay.
A band played the nations anthem aloud.
It could be heard, even through the thickest cloud.
Some individuals were standing in the sand.
When suddenly a war broke out, because of the Empire of Japan.
2300 of our men died that day, and under the water they went.
The Sleeping giant awoke, a war machine to Japan was sent.
We fought this great war machine of Japan for Years.
When Individuals were lost, their families broke out in tears.
We did not give up, determined to win the war and every fight.
We used everything that we needed, through the day and night.
One single day and one single plane.
They flew to Japan and their government felt some pain.
As the atomic bomb mushroomed into an enormous cloud.
The Empire of Japan Surrendered, they weren't too Proud.
Under the Waters of Pearl Harbor they lay, the victims of a crime..
Our Veterans have earned a place in Time.
