Birthday List

I don't want cards, clothes,
perfume, or any of that stuff,
because a phone call...
from you, would be enough.

You could come over without me
having to pull and arm and a leg,
and maybe on my birthday, a hug...
without me having to beg.

I'm not asking for a kiss,
it's just you being around...
is what I miss.

The one thing I want most for my birthday,
I won't touch,
because I know I would be
asking for too much.

So....for my birthday, that's all I ask,
to know that you care...
and our friendship means something to you.
That's all I ask you could do.
