As the winter months sets in, the weather turns colder, and the skin drier. Your skin needs some extra help from the rash and windy environment to protect it from getting dry, chapped and crusty.

Avoid using harsh, coloured, and antibacterial soaps and stick with mild non-drying soaps. Do not apply soap on your face, instead use a moisturising face-wash.

Apply moisturising cream immediately after bathing and toweling dry. This helps seal in the moisture.

Lips become easily chapped during winters. Soften them up throughout the winter season by applying a lip balm rich in vitamin E.

Your hands and your fingers tend to suffer more due to their constant contact with windy air. Use hand creams to help protect them against the elements in the environment and retain moisture.

Avoid excess shampooing as it can can strip hair of moisture. Use warm water and a mild shampoo.

Drink lots of water to prevent dehydration. Drinking lukewarm water helps detoxify the body and add glow to your skin.

Continue using your sunscreen with an SPF of 15 that protects against both UVA and UVB. This is an important step in your daily winter skin care routine.
