Should we take supplements after a bout of diarrhoea or malaria?

Immune boosting nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin A, zinc, selenium and magnesium help a lot. They are found in abundance in fruits like amla, guava (peru), and green vegetables like patra, chaulai, bitter gourd etc. Sprouts, nuts and oilseeds are good sources of selenium, zinc, magnesium. Having said that, if you are not able to consume such foods, it is better to take supplements while keeping your diet balanced with all the macronutrients for their better assimilation.
