Punjab police to loose weight through Bhangra

:yThe weight-shedding ‘Bhangra’ dance exercise technique successfully adopted by the Bathinda police in Punjab will be replicated for the entire state to make cops fitter and healthier.
Director general of police N P S Aulakh has asked Bathinda district police chief Naunihal Singh to make a presentation on the initiative to get police personnel into shape through exercises that also include a ‘Bhangra-dance’ drill.
Singh, a young Indian Police Service officer posted at Bathinda, a south Punjab district, introduced the unique exercise regime for fat, overweight and pot-bellied policemen recently.
Those police personnel who need to shed weight take part in the exercise, including dancing to Bhangra-pop numbers, every morning for over one hour.
In just two weeks, the personnel undergoing the weight-loss regime have collectively lost over 500 kgs, Singh said.
Singh will now make a presentation before senior Punjab police officials at the police headquarters here with details about how the scheme can be implemented in the other districts.
