Magnesium is one of the minerals essential for good health. The fourth most abundant mineral found in the body, it serves a number of important metabolic functions. Majority of magnesium present in the body is found in bones, teeth, and red blood cells. The rest resides inside the cells of body tissues and organs, while a minimal amount is found in blood. The excess magnesium present in the body, over and above the amount required, is excreted through urine and stool. In the following lines, we have provided a list of food items that serve as dietary sources of magnesium for the human body.
