Do you have Bad Vacation Sun Tan? Try This

Back from a vacation with a bad sun tan? Although sun tan is usually a temporary affair, it sometimes can take several months to get rid of it. Here’s how you can treat a bad vacation sun tan.

Home remedies

  • You can rub common kitchen ingredients such as lemon juice, rosewater, cucumber, tomato juice, raw milk and turmeric on your skin to reduce a tan.
  • Fresh coconut water is also a good remedy for sun tan.
  • Applying aloe vera gel on the affected areas is another excellent way to get rid of a tan.

Make your face summer ready with these tips.

Other treatments
Go for a sunscreen containing a higher SPF (more than 30) with added UVA protection on the face and body to prevent sunburns. However, make sure you apply the sunscreen liberally, at least half an hour before sun exposure.

You can also apply skin lightening creams containing glycolic acid, kojic acid, arbutin, licorice extracts and vitamin C twice daily.

Also, consult a dermatologist for treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion and anti-tan facials.

Simple ways to avoid a suntan

  • Use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun.
  • Carry an umbrella to avoid direct sunlight.
  • Wear full-sleeved clothes, scarves or hats to avoid sun exposure.
