Bhringaraj is a distinguished medicinal herb cultivated in moist places as a weed all across the world. Botanically known as Eclipta Alba, the herb is commonly known as false daisy, yerba de tago, babri, galagara, kesuri, mochkand, and so on. It is a small annual plant distributed throughout India, China, Thailand and Brazil. It has a short, flat and round stem with well-developed roots that are cylindrical and grayish in color. The plant bears small white flowers and lance shaped leaves arranged opposite to each other on a long stalk. The oil extracted from the herb is most commonly used as an ayurvedic medicine for treating hair loss, premature graying and devitalized hair.
