Theres no place in the world like Tilak Vihar - full of families who survived the 1984 genocide. Many are still awaiting justice, others have given up. Can justice still be delivered? Some were forced to give testimonies in support of the killers - they face fights frequently with other residents. There's health issues in abundance, crime and drugs are rampant, 200 children of shaheeds have died to drugs, there’s little employment opportunities, poor education, families living in overcrowded homes, broken homes.... it’s not a nice place to live in. They have been neglected for many years.
Seva84 is working in partnership with NGO organisations in India to establish infrastructures to benefit these colonies in the long term. We aim to drive out drugs and crime and drive in education, healthcare and employment opportunities.
The work of seva84 is not easy, there are deep rooted problems which require specialist help and not quick fixes. Specialist help is what we are working hard on. Changes to these people’s lives will not be seen overnight
