Police were called to a wedding after religious protesters tried to stop the ceremony - because the groom wasn't Sikh.
Officers had to separate guests from the youths - who were angry that a Sikh woman was marrying the man inside a Gurdwara (a Sikh place of worship).
Both sides traded insults and one eyewitness claimed punches were thrown during the disturbance on Saturday.
Video footage taken inside the temple, in the Newtown area of Birmingham, shows one elderly wedding guest remonstrating with the demonstrators.
Some Sikhs believe inter-faith marriages cannot take place in Gurdwaras because non-Sikhs do not understand the ‘Anand Karaj’ ceremony.

Angry scenes: Protesters tried to break up a wedding at the Sri Dasmesh temple in Birmingham Sources said the bride’s family expected the protesters and had hired private security to keep them out of the Sri Dasmesh temple.
The groom is thought to have signed a declaration proposed by the Sikh Council agreeing to bring any children up as Sikhs.
But despite that, several masked men in their early 20s stormed the venue and attempted to block the marriage taking place.
Sunny Hundal, a journalist who says he has spoken to sources from the wedding, posted on Facebook: "This weekend another large group of thugs disrupted a wedding in Lozells, Birmingham.
"This time, family members have also received threats (two sources have told me) telling them to keep quiet.
"And so much for 'peaceful protest' - the police had to be called because there was plenty of pushing and shoving and swearing."
In recent months groups of protesters have tried to stop mixed-faith weddings happening in the temples cross the UK.

One guest remonstrated with the protesters Mr Hundal added: "I recognise that many people think the Anand Karaj wedding ceremony should only be between two Sikhs.
"Fine, they have a right to their opinion and this is a free country.
"But they have NO right to impose their views on others through threats, violence or thuggery.
"If we let this state of affairs continue, things WILL get worse and there will be more violence because it will become accepted to use violence to enforce views on other Sikhs.
"Then we could see the emergence of a Taliban-like Sikh group."
West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to the temple but said no arrests were made.
In a statement they said: “Police were called to the Sri Dasmesh temple at around 10.30am on Saturday.
“We had reports of a protest involving around 20 people in relation to an event that was taking place.
“Officers attended and dispersed the group.
"No arrests were made.”
In an unconnected incident, shots were fired from an Audi car at another vehicle near the temple on Monday night.
Police sealed off nearby streets and forensic teams searched for clues following the incident.
No injuries were reported.
