Guru Granth Sahibji
Dear Sadh Sangat Ji
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
congratulates the whole Sikh Panth on the occasion of Prakash Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, being commemorated 1st September this year.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is more than just a scripture of the Sikhs. The Sikhs treat this Granth (holy book) as a living Guru. The holy text spans 1430 pages and contain the actual words spoken by the founders of the Sikh religion (the Ten Gurus of Sikhism) and various other Saints from other religions including Hinduism and Islam.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was given the Guruship by the last of the living Sikh Masters, Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1708. Guru Gobind Singh said before his demise that the Sikhs were to treat Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their next Guru. Guru Ji said – "Sab Sikhan ko hukam hai Guru Manyo Granth" meaning "All Sikhs are commanded to take the Granth as Guru".
Guru Granth Sahib Ji is a Living Treasure. It tells us about :
1. How to be True?
2. How to attain God?
3. How to pray?
4. How to get rid of all the sufferings and live?
5. How to realize God?
6. How to see God in the whole universe?
7. How to serve all creatures in the universe?
8. How to love all?
9. How to be simple, real and un-hypocrite?
10. How to get rid of the superstitious, meaningless customs which wasted man's energy, money, time and still kept the man always worried and depressed?
