Mysore pak

Ingredients:
3/4 cup - besan
3 cup - sugar
2 cup - ghee
500 ml - water

Method

  1. Sift the besan. Mix sugar in 500ml water and on meduim flame, stir till the sugar gets disloved.
  2. Increase the heat and allow the syrup to boil till it reaches a single-thread consistency.
  3. Add 1/4 part of the ghee and stir.
  4. Add besan gradually with continuous stirring to avoid lumps.
  5. Stir till the mixture starts bubbling, continue the procees till the besan and ghee is used completly.
  6. Pour ghee everytime you add besan.
  7. Continue stirring till you get the aroma of sweet roasted besan and the besan turns out to be little brownish in colour.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased tray, cool a liitle and cut into square pieces.
