Popular variation of rice prepared with peas
6 cups of cooked white basmati rice
1 1/2 cups of frozen green peas
1 small sliced onion
1 tsp. cumin seeds
3 garlic flakes, crushed finely
1 small piece of ginger, crushed finely
1 small piece cinnamon, broken into pieces
2 tbsp. ghee (clarified butter)/oil
Salt according to taste
2 tsp. coriander leaves , chopped finely
1 tbsp. cashewnuts, chopped
1.Heat the Ghee(clarified butter)/oil in a pan and add the ginger-garlic paste.
2.When it browns, add the cardamoms, cinnamon, cumin seeds, cloves and onions.
3.Cook till the onions turn transparent.
4.Now add the peas, cashewnuts and the coriander leaves and mix well.
5.Cook on low heat till the peas are cooked.
6.Mix the above mixture with the cooked rice and heat through.

Eat when hot with a vegetable or meat side dish.
