Ingredients:
1/2 cup - rice
1/2 cup - moong dal
1/2 tbsp - jeera powder
1/2 tbsp - coriander powder
8 flakes - garlic/lehsun
1/4 tsp - asafoetida
1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - cumin
2 tsp - oil
2 tsp - salt or as per taste
1 tsp - red chilli powder
Method
1/2 cup - rice
1/2 cup - moong dal
1/2 tbsp - jeera powder
1/2 tbsp - coriander powder
8 flakes - garlic/lehsun
1/4 tsp - asafoetida
1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - cumin
2 tsp - oil
2 tsp - salt or as per taste
1 tsp - red chilli powder
Method
- Soak rice and moong dal separately.
- Remove water and keep aside.
- Boil 3 cups of water in a vessel.
- Cut garlic flakes into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a small pressure cooker.
- Add garlic pieces and fry till light brown.
- Now add asafoetida, cumin and turmeric powder.
- Add soaked rice and fry for a while, add moong dal and again stir fry.
- Now add jeera powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add 3 cups of boiling water.
- Pressure cook for 4-5 min.
- You can add ghee to enhance taste once it is cooked.
