Recipe Kali Masoor Dal

Ingredients:

1. Kali Masoor Dal/Black Lentils - 1 Cup
2. Cumin Seeds - 1/3 tsp
3. Tomatoes - 2 Big
4. Onion - 1 Big
5. Green Chilies - 2
6. Salt - To taste
7. Red Chili Powder - 1/3 tsp
8. Garam Masala - ¼ tsp
9. Mango Powder (Amchoor) - 1/3 tsp
10. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
11. Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
12. Turmeric Powder - 2 Pinches
13. Ginger - 1”
14. Garlic - 2 Cloves
15. Asafetida (Hing) - Few Pinches
16. Pure Oil/Desi Ghee - 1 tbsp
17. Water - 4 cups



Directions...

1. Boil dal with water, salt and turmeric powder.
2. Bring to boil, after 2 whistles let it cook on low flame for about 15 min. Then switch off the gas.
3. Heat oil/ghee in a pan. Add hing, cumin seeds.
4. Add chopped ginger, garlic and grated onions. Cook till they become pink in color.
5. Now add grated tomatoes and chopped green chilies. Mix well.
6. Add red chili powder, amchoor, garam masala, coriander powder. Mix well and cook till mixture separates from oil.
7. Now add boiled dal in it.
8. Garnish the dal with chopped coriander leaves.
9. Serve hot with Rice/Chapati.
