Home Decor 5 Fun Ways to Decorate a Bare Wall

Bare walls are a bore. In fact, I can't understand why anyone would leave a wall blank and untouched when there's so much fun you can have with it. Whether it's a small space or a large one, use your walls to add character to your home. Check out these five creative ideas to spruce up a bare wall.

Plated!

Choose a solid colour paint for your wall (say bright yellow, teal or even beige). Then decorate with a mix of antique, new-age and quirky ceramic plates in all kinds of shapes. You could decide on the placement of your accessories first or just go with the flow! Adding a piece of furniture to the space is entirely optional.

Mirror magic
This is the perfect way to do up a wall in a broad passage or entry way as well as the living room. Start by bringing in the right sideboard or console table. Then the perfect mirror (you might have to plurge on this one a little). And finally, add the finishing touches to the table. An expensive lamp or other pricey accessories should do the trick. Just make sure not to crowd this space.

Country charm

The concrete jungle we live in could use a few extra trees. So how about a wall decal that brings the outdoors in? Enjoy a little country charm in your home every single day.

Nursery nook

If you're one of those with a green thumb, we bet you'd never say no to a wall of leafy beauties. A simple wire rack is what you'll need to mount on your wall before you begin. Then bring in the colourful planters with a good selection of indoor plants and voila!

Wine lovers wall
Home bars are really not meant for small homes, but wine racks certainly are! Choose a wall-mounted rack that can hold both, your wine bottles and your glasses. A nifty poster would complete this space well.
