Vespa LX125
Vespa is an iconic brand coming from Italy.
Vespa are well know for their fashionable scooters all round the world and
has sold over 16 million units. Vespa is now under the ownership of Piaggio Group.

The Vespa LX125 is a meeting point of classy design and modern engine that is with safety, agility and practicality. Like the Honda Activa,
the Vespa LX125 in India will be offered with all steel body design.
This modern Vespa is based on the design of the
very popular Vespa ET to which the LX is the replacement.
To get a retro look the Vespa LX receives round headlight and circular rear view mirrors dipped in chrome that surly demonstrates Vespa’s history.
Its saddle height should not be a problem fir most of the Indians.
Its wheels have five spoke design that looks sporty and are made of aluminum ensuring better stability and precise steering. Also the brake in the front is disk,
an unusual scene in India.

Vespa brought the LX to get closest to retain the original Vespa look.
Vespa LX looks classical but underneath the visuals is a modern scooter.
Vespa has showed the LX125 at the Mumbai International Auto Show along with Aprilia RSV4.

Engine
Vespa LX125 uses Piaggio 125cc engine to make a run.
The result is a smooth riding scooter, is calm, no noise and doesn’t leave
carbon foot print. The Vespa LX125 in India should not have a problem with
the engine as most of the Indian riders are with scooters either having a 110cc engine or max 125. The Vespa LX125 is built for fun and at the same time
its fuel efficient. On road its 125cc engine is expected to run 40kms per liter.

Ride and Handling
The Vespa LX125 is a commuter friendly ride and not a sporty machine. It has cute looking tiny wheels that are suited to commute purpose.
Vespa has compact turning circle and goes well making its way through traffic. Suspension may be bit bumpy on Indian roads but that’s neglect able for this
Italian beauty piece.

Equipment
Looking at the pictures you will realize that Vespa LX125
is a fashion scooter and is not as dedicated commuter as the Honda Activa.
Still Vespa has under seat storage compartment for a small helmet of a
shopping bag. The leg shield in the front below the handle bar has a lock hock;
the same kind of stuff that we find on Honda Activa and other scooters near
the foot board. Along with speedometer the dash has clock and fuel gauge for convenience. Vespa LX125 is now also offered with rear carrier which can be
used for different purposes. Other accessories include windscreen, 32 liter top
box kit, chrome plated front and rear rack, chrome rear and side protection,
leather saddle and backrest pad.

Quality and Reliability
Overall Vespa LX125 is a well sorted scooter and most of
the parts are under cover and are well protected from corrosion. Now if you
make the scooter fall, be ready to shell lots of money to get it repaint. Like the guards those available for Honda Activa, the after markets in India will also
produce similar protection guard for the Vespa LX125 in India.
